"The Neglected Role of Religion in Political Topographies of the African State"

Taking Catherine Boone's recent book on political topographies as a starting point, Professor Kirby will fill in the religious gaps particularly in terms of the connection between African States and Earth shrines. Implications for contemporary economic and political stability will be drawn out via a comparison of the Asante state and that of Dagbon.
