The WCFIA Canada Program is pleased to announce that over $50,000 has been awarded to seven Harvard students in 2009–2010 for dissertation and thesis research. Recipients represent the College, Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard Law School, the Graduate School of Education, the Graduate School of Design, and the Departments of Government, History, and Sociology in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences.

And we welcome three affiliates: the 2009-2010 William Lyon Mackenzie King Visiting Professor of Canadian Studies, Professor Ruth Phillips, professor of art history, who will be teaching The Museum in Settler Society: Imperialism, Nationalism, Pluralism (fall, 2009), and Visual Culture, Translation, and Indigeneity in the Great Lakes (spring, 2010); Alison Mountz, assistant professor of urban geography, who will be teaching Fire and Ice? Border Politics and Governance of Immigration in Canada (fall, 2009), and Political Geography (spring, 2010); Emmett Macfarlane joins us as an associate who will be conducting post-doctoral work at the Law School.
