in collaboration with the Amazon Indian organization
COICA
and Ecuador's Fundacion
Futuro Latinoamericano, has helped to
organize workshops for indigenous peoples,
government officials, and oil companies. These
workshops, extensions of the "Oil
Dialogues," help to provide information
about the technical and economic issues of
oil production in general, as well as provide
information on international human rights
and specific training in skills that they
perceive as essential for negotiating with
oil companies and developing long-term conflict
management programs in areas where oil activities
are underway.
