Each year the Program used to bring several full- and part-time researchers, visiting scholars, postdoctoral fellows, and others to the Weatherhead Center. The Program was academically enriched also through its own affiliates' research, which focused on particular regions and/or pertained to more generalized issues in the field, both theoretical and empirical.

As of July 1, 2005, the Program on Nonviolent Sanctions and Cultural Survival has closed.
