In 2012–2013, the Africa Research Seminar examines social, cultural, economic, and political dimensions of armed conflict and post-conflict reconstruction in sub-Saharan Africa. The seminar invites scholars, public figures, and experts in practice-based fields to present their ongoing work three to four times a semester, with an emphasis on participatory discussion following the presentation. Sarah Dryden-Peterson, assistant professor at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, chairs the seminar. It is jointly sponsored by the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs and the Committee on African Studies at Harvard University.
