Stuart McManus Wins Dan David Prize

Former Graduate Student Affiliate Stuart M. McManus, now assistant professor of history at Chinese University of Hong Kong, is a recipient of the 2024 Dan David Prize. The award recognizes “outstanding scholarship that illuminates the past and seeks to anchor public discourse in a deeper understanding of history.” It’s given each year to outstanding early and mid-career scholars and practitioners in the historical disciplines. McManus is a historian of the global renaissance, working on his second book on the story underlying the famous 1619 slave voyage to Virginia.
